for International Development (USAID), CFI partners with the
Asia Forest Network, with its support from the European Union,
to support numerous projects throughout five participating
countries in Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines,
Thailand, and Vietnam.
The project focus is community forest management policy & implementation. CFMSP is designed to strengthen regional interactions among communities, NGOs, donor
organizations, and government agencies working on community forestry (CF) at the policy and field level.
The project seeks to accelerate the development of national policies and operational procedures that enable local communities to formally participate in the management of forests under government jurisdiction. The project enhances the operations of existing country working groups that bring government, development agency, and NGO stakeholders together to guide the formulation of more effective forest management policies and create more efficient community forestry projects.
