About Community Forestry International Fri, Oct 19 2007Who We Are - What We Do - Board of Directors - Contact - CFI Annual Reports Board of Directors Lisa Borre, M.S.Lisa Borre has spent 20 years working to protect and restore the health of lakes and wetlands. From 1990 to 1997, she was the coordinator of the Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP) and facilitated the development of a comprehensive plan which is now considered a model of integrated water resources management. In 1997, Borre joined LakeNet (then called Monitor International) and served as the founding director of what is now a global network of over 2,000 individuals and organizations in more than 100 countries working to protect lakes. In 2006, she is retiring as LakeNet\’s director of worldwide programs but will continue to serve as an ex officio member of the Board of Trustees and as the nonprofit organization's vice president. Lisa is a skilled facilitator and has worked with numerous government agencies, nonprofit organizations and international groups to facilitate strategic planning meetings, training workshops and public fora. In addition to the hundreds of meetings and workshops she facilitated for the LCBP and LakeNet, she has facilitated numerous meetings for other groups, including regional consultations for North American NGOs to provide input into the World Bank’s Environment Strategy. LakeNet is the partnership activity lead, and Lisa is the facilitator for the lakes component of the Global Environment Facility International Waters Learning Exchange and Resources Network (IW:LEARN) project. She regularly advises groups and provides training on participatory watershed management techniques. Lisa has a B.A. in geology from the University of Vermont and a M.S. in Environmental Management from Yale University. |
